     Chromium
Chromium is a trace mineral used in the metabolism of glucose and is also essential for breaking down fats, proteins and cholesterol. It helps keep your blood sugar levels steady. It promotes good circulation and is used to treat headaches, skin complaints and psoriasis. Chromium is believed to promote fat loss which is why some athletes and body builders take this. The largest amounts of naturally occuring chromium include raw onions, ripe tomatoes and romaine lettuce

    Shopping list for 4 100g dried wholewheat pasta 100g mangetout
1 romaine lettuce
1 small red onion
16 cherry tomatoes
12 green or black olives
80g salami
80g parma ham
100g parmesan cheese (in a block)
Dressing - 1tbsp of olive oil
juice of 1 lemon
1/2 tsp of dijon mustard
  • Method
    
1.Cook the wholewheat pasta for 9 mins.
2.Add the mangetout for the last 3 minutes
3.Meanwhile put the lettuce, red onion, tomatoes and olives on the serving plates.
4. Chop the parmesan into squares.
5. When the pasta and mangetout is done immediately cool in cold water and then sieve and pat dry with a clean tea towel.
6. Share the pasta and mangetout onto the serving plates. 7. Add the salami, parma ham and parmesan cheese.
8. To make the dressing - add all the ingredients into a clean jam jar and shake then pour over the salads and serve.
