    Turkey - A Natural Anti-Depressant?
Turkey in one of the best foods to eat to improve serotonin. It is one of the best sources of tryptophan, a protein molecule that is essential for the production of serotonin in the brain. Without tryptophan, the brain cannot produce serotonin. Turkey also has essential fats that contribute to healthy brain function. Dr. Kathleen DesMaisons suggests eating carbohydrates, such as a small potato a few hours after a tryptophan meal. (Preferably before bedtime) This is beacuse the carbohydrate is needed to allow the serotonin production process to take place. Sources: Dr. Kathleen DesMaisons - Potatoes not prozac.
